Consultative Committees of Parliament
Notwithstanding the motion agreed to by Parliament on 19th February 2013, the Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament moved that, Consultative Committee on Technology, Research and Atomic Energy be re-designated as Consultative Committee on Technology and Research.
Private Members’ Bills
(i) The Hon. Thilanga Sumathipala was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
“Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka (Incorporation)”
(ii) The Hon. M.B. Farook was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
“Markas Sakafathul Islamiyya (Incorporation)”
The above (i) and (ii) were referred to the Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities and the Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs respectively for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).
Main Business of the House for Today
Local Authorities Filling of Vacancies (Special Provisions) Bill
was passed by the House with amendments.
Adjournment Motion
Adjournment Motion on “Introduction of Technical subjects to schools” was moved by the Hon. Eric Prasanna Weerawardhana.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1930 Hrs. until 1330 Hrs. on Friday 12th July 2013.
