Ministerial Statements
Minister of Primary Industries and Social Empowerment, the Hon. Daya Gamage replied to the Questions raised by the-
(i) Hon. Douglas Devananda under the Standing Order 27(2) of the Parliament on 07.06.2019 regarding Granting of Samurdhi benefits to people living in Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts.
(ii) Hon. Anura Dissanayaka under the Standing Order 27(2) of the Parliament on 06.06.2019 regarding Issues relating to Samurdhi Programme.
Presentation of Bills
The Hon. Chief Government Whip moved the following Bills entitled,
(i) Shrama Vasana Fund (Amendment) - to amend the Shrama Vasana Fund Act, No. 12 of 1998.
(ii) Wages Boards (Amendment) - to amend the Wages Boards Ordinance.
Ministerial Consultative Committees
Notwithstanding the motion agreed by Parliament on 24th January 2019 the designations of the following Ministerial Consultative Committees shall be re-designated as follows as per the decision taken by the Committee of Selection on 08th July 2019, the Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament moved that,
• The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development be re-designated as Ministerial Consultative Committee on Agriculture, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development.
• The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Public Administration & Disaster Management be re-designated as Ministerial Consultative Committee on Public Administration, Disaster Management and Rural Economic Affairs.
Main Business of the House for Today
The following Items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 6 of today’s Order Paper) were approved by the House-

Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Establishment of sub post office in estate area” was proposed by the Hon. Velu Kumar.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1902 Hrs. until 1030 Hrs. on Wednesday 10th July 2019.
