Presentation of Bills
Prescription (Special Provisions)
The Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament moved a Bill to enable special legal provisions to be made in respect of persons who were unable to pursue their rights or defend themselves in court due to the activities of a militant terrorist group which prevailed in Sri Lanka and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Private Members’ Bills
The Hon. Manusha Nanayakkara was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
Berty Dissanayake Foundation (Incorporation)
The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Social Services for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).
Main Business of the House for Today
Regulations under the Control of Pesticides Act
were passed by the House.
Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Closure of Upper Dickson Road, Galle” was moved by the Hon. Ajith Kumara.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1905 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Wednesday 23rd July 2014.
