(iii) Default Taxes (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Bill – with amendments
(iv) Monetary Law (Amendment) Bill
(v) Resolution under the Customs Ordinance
(vi) Order under the Excise (Special Provisions) Act
(vii) Rules under the Excise Ordinance
(viii) Order under the Excise Ordinance
Vote of Felicitation to the Sri Lanka Cricket Team
Hon. Nimal Siripala De Silva, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management and the Leader of the House of Parliament moved a Special Resolution supported by Hon. John Amaratunga, Chief Opposition Whip to felicitate the Sri Lanka Cricket Team for winning the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.
Second Reading of the following Bills (appearing as Item Nos. 10 to 13 of today’s Order Paper) were passed by the House and referred to the Standing Committee (Legislative) “A”:-
(i) Local Authorities Elections (Amendment)
(ii) Right to Free Education
(iii) R/Kuruwita Central College Past Pupils Association (Incorporation)
(iv) Mohan Lal Grero Foundation (Incorporation)
Following Bills (appearing as Item Nos. 14 and 15 of today’s Order Paper) were considered and passed by the House:-
(v) Samastha Lanka Sasanarakshaka Mandalaya (Incorporation)
(vi) The Rehabilitation of Buddhist Temples Foundation (Incorporation)
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1805 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Thursday 10th April 2014.
