Presentation of Bills
Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (Amendment)
The Hon. Chief Government Whip moved a Bill to amend Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka Act, No.53 of 1988.
Consultative Committees of Parliament
That a Consultative Committee be appointed to be designated as Consultative Committee on Law and Order.
That notwithstanding the provisions of Standing Order No.106, the Committee shall consist of not less than Five (05) Members and not more than Twenty Five (25) Members to inquire into and report upon such matters as are referred to it in terms of Standing Order No.109
That the quorum of the Committee shall be Three (03) Members.
Private Members’ Bills
The Hon. Hunais Farook was granted leave to introduce the following Bills;
(i) Al Manar College (Incorporation)
(ii) Human Rights Organization (Incorporation)
The above (i) and (ii) were referred to the Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs and Social Services respectively for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).
Main Business of the House for Today
Order under the Strategic Development Projects Act
was passed by the House.
Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Northern Provincial Council Election” was moved by the Hon. Shantha Bandara.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1905 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Thursday 10th October 2013.
