Local Authorities Filling of Vacancies (Special Provisions)
The Hon. Chief Government Whip moved a Bill to provide for the filling of vacancies in the Office of Mayor, Deputy Mayor or a Member of Local Authorities elected under the Local Authorities Elections Ordinance (Chapter 262); and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Private Members’ Bills
The Hon. Janaka Bandara was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
“R/Kuruwita Central College Past Pupils Association (Incorporation)”
The above was referred to the Minister of Education for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).
Main Business of the House for Today
Determination under the Constitution (Salary of the Auditor-General)
was passed by the House.
Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Public awareness program for Common Wealth Heads of Government meeting” was moved by the Hon. (Al-Haj) A. H. M. Azwer.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1846 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Thursday 11th July 2013.
