(iii) Report on the Submission of observations and steps taken in terms of the Standing Order 119(4) of the Parliament with regard to the matters mentioned on the Ministry of Defence and Sri Lanka Air Force in the Second Report for the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Committee on Public Accounts for the period From 23.02.2018 to 12.10.2018 which was presented to Parliament on 04.04.2019

Presentation of Reports from the Committees
(i) The Report of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Sustainable Development and Environment and Natural Resources was presented by the Hon. Sandith Samarasinghe, member of the Committee on behalf of the Chair of the Committee, the Hon. (Mrs.) Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi.
(ii) The Report of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Health and Human Welfare, Social Empowerment was presented by the Chair of the Committee, the Hon. Mylvaganam Thilakarajah.

Main Business of the House for Today
Resolution under the Public Security Ordinance
Resolution moved by the Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament that the Proclamation made by the President under Section 2 of the Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40), as amended by Act, No. 8 of 1959, Law No. 6 of 1978, and Act, No. 28 of 1988, bringing into operation the provisions of Part II of the aforesaid Ordinance throughout Sri Lanka with effect from 22nd July, 2019, was approved.
Accordingly, the Emergency Motion was approved by Parliament with a majority of 40 votes, extending it for another month. 42 votes were cast in favour of the motion while 02 votes were against it.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1833 Hrs. until 1030 Hrs. on Thursday 1st August 2019.
