Hon. Kanaka Herath,— To ask the Minister of Home Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the provision of computers to make the duties of Grama Niladharis easier that was promised through the budget for 2017, is being implemented;
(ii) of the districts in which computers have been provided to Grama Niladharis and the number of computers provided;
(iii) of the districts in which computers have not been provided to Grama Niladharis and the number of computers due to be provided;
(iv) of the date by which the computers mentioned in (iii) above will be provided?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) of the allowance paid by the government as rent for the premises where offices of Grama Niladharis are maintained, separately as per rural and urban areas;
(ii) whether the allowance paid is sufficient in the context of current conditions;
(iii) whether action will be taken to increase this allowance, if it is not sufficient?
(c) If not, why?
