Hon. P. Harrison,— To ask the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management,—
(a) Will he state —
(i) the number of plots of land that were allocated for public playgrounds according to the Master Plan for Mahaweli H Zone; and
(ii) separately, on per division basis, the locations that have been allocated for public playgrounds and the extent of each of them?
(b) Will he also state —
(i) separately, the number of unauthorized settlers residing in lands belonging to each of the aforesaid playgrounds;
(ii) the years they settled in those locations;
(iii) the names and the addresses of the said settlers;
(iv) if other legitimate lands have been awarded to the aforesaid unauthorized settlers, the names of such recipients on per division basis;
(v) whether the Mahaweli Authority has granted permission for them to get the electricity and water supply facilities;
(vi) if so, the names of the persons who were influential in providing such facilities to those settlers; and
(vii) the reasons as to why the Mahaweli Authority is not taking action to evict the aforesaid unauthorized settlers from those playgrounds?
(c) If not, why?
