Privilege

The Privilege motion that the question of privilege arising out of the matter raised by Hon. M. A. Sumanthiran, M.P. on 28th November, 2020 in Parliament to the effect that his privileges have been infringed, moved by the Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, was referred to the Committee on Ethics and Privileges under the provisions of Standing Order No. 118 of the Parliament.

(i)    The Hon. Tissa Attanayake was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled

The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs for report to Parliament under Standing Order 52 (6) of the Parliament.

(ii)    The Hon. Amarakeerthi Athukorala was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled

“Roshan Ranasinghe Janasahana Foundation (Incorporation)”

The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Health for report to Parliament under Standing Order 52 (6) of the Parliament.

(iii)    The Hon. Premnath C. Dolawatte was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled

The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Education for report to Parliament under Standing Order 52 (6) of the Parliament.


Main Business of the House for Today

Regulations under the National Gem and Jewellery Authority Act (Adjourned debate on question (10th February, 2021))

was debated and adjourned for a future date.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1300 Hrs. until 1000 Hrs. on Wednesday 24th February 2021.
