The Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament moved the following Bills entitled,
(i) Nation Building Tax (Amendment) - to amend the Nation Building Tax Act, No. 9 of 2009
(ii) Economic Service Charge (Amendment) - to amend the Economic Service Charge Act, No. 13 of 2006
(iii) Ports and Airports Development Levy (Amendment) - to amend the Ports and Airports Development Levy Act, No. 18 of 2011
(iv) Finance (Amendment) - to amend the Finance Act, No. 35 of 2018
(v) The Hon. Minister of Justice moved the Bill entitled
“Twentieth Amendment to the Constitution”
to amend the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
Main Business of the House for Today
The following Items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 43 of today’s Order Paper) were approved by the House:-
(i) Two Orders under the Finance Acts, Nos. 11 of 2006 and 12 of 2012
(ii) Five Orders under the Finance Act, No. 35 of 2018
(iii) Two Regulations and Three Orders under the Foreign Exchange Act, No. 12 of 2017
(iv) Thirty One Orders under the Special Commodity Levy Act, No. 48 of 2007
Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Teacher Assistants in Plantation sector” was proposed by the Hon. Velu Kumar.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1654 Hrs. until 1000 Hrs. on Wednesday 23rd September 2020.
