(ii)    Order made by the Minister of Finance, Economy and Policy Development under Section 2A of the Value Added Tax Act, No. 14 of 2002 amended by the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act, No. 6 of 2005, relating to Value Added Tax and published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 2151/52 of 29th November 2019
(iii)    Order made by the Minister of Finance, Economy and Policy Development under Section 2A of the Value Added Tax Act, No. 14 of 2002 amended by the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act, No. 6 of 2005, relating to Value Added Tax and published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 2152/60 of 06th December 2019
(iv)    Report on the Submission of observations and steps taken in terms of the Standing Order 120(4) of the Parliament with regard to the matters mentioned on Sri Lanka Ports Authority in the Third Report for the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Committee on Public Enterprises for the period from 01.03.2018 to 26.10.2018 which was presented to Parliament on 23.10.2019

(i)    The Hon. (Dr.) Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe was granted leave to introduce the,

“Bill to amend the Declaration of Assets and Liabilities Law, No. 1 of 1975” 

The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Finance, Economy and Policy Development, Minister of Buddhasasana, Cultural and Religious Affairs and Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Housing Facilities for report to Parliament under Standing Order 52 (6) of the Parliament.

The Hon. (Ven.) Athuraliye Rathana Thero was granted leave to introduce the following Bills,

(ii)    “Bill to repeal the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act, No. 13 of 1951”
(iii)    “Bill to amend the Marriages (General) Ordinance, No. 19 of 1907”

The above Bills (ii) and (iii) were referred to the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils & Local Government for report to Parliament under Standing Order 52 (6) of the Parliament.

The Hon. (Dr.) (Mrs.) Thusitha Wijemanna was granted leave to introduce the following Bills,

(iv)    “Bill to amend the Marriage Registration Ordinance”
(v)    “Bill to introduce the Minimum Age of Marriage in Sri Lanka”
(vi)    “Bill to amend the Civil Procedure Code (Section 627)”

The above Bills (iv) and (v) were referred to the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils & Local Government and (vi) was referred to the Minister of Justice, Human Rights & Legal Reforms for report to Parliament under Standing Order 52 (6) of the Parliament.


Adjournment Motion

Adjourned debate on “the Address of Parliament by the His Excellency the President” was continued.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1830 Hrs. until 1030 Hrs. on Thursday 9th January 2020.
