Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage,— To ask the Minister of Higher Education and Highways,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether a programme has been drawn up to develop rural roads on which bus services are operated in the plantation areas of the Kandy, Nuwaraeliya and Badulla districts by carpeting or tarring;
(ii) if so, the amount of money allocated for this purpose in the years 2015, 2016 and 2017;
(iii) whether he will submit a list of roads to be constructed under this programme;
(iv) the measures taken to develop roads in the plantation areas in future?
(b) If not, why?
