Hon. T. Ranjith De Soyza,— To ask the Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether a programme called ‘Bimsawiya’ is implemented with the objective of settling land issues;
(ii) whether the above programme is implemented in all districts of Sri Lanka at present; and
(iii) if not, of the names of the districts in which the aforementioned ‘Bimsawiya’ programme is implemented?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether a proposal to expedite the aforesaid ‘Bimsawiya’ programme has been submitted by now;
(ii) whether foreign aid is obtained to expedite the aforesaid programme;
(iii) if so, whether the said aid is provided as foreign aid or a loan;
(iv) of the financial value of such aid; and
(v) of the total amount estimated for the ‘Bimsawiya’ programme?
(c) If not, why?
