Hon. Ashoka Priyantha,—To ask the Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of persons who died as a result of wild elephants entering villages in the Putlam District of the North-Western Province from year 2010 up to now;
(ii) of the names of persons who died in the above manner;
(iii) of the names of Divisional Secretariat Divisions and Grama Niladhari Divisions which are faced with the threat of wild elephants;
(iv) whether relief is granted through the Ministry to persons who were subjected to loss of life, houses and cultivations as a result of facing the above issue;
(v) if so, as to what those concessions are?
(b) If not, why?
