Hon. Ashok Abeysinghe,— To ask the Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether Malaria has been completely eliminated from Sri Lanka;
(ii) whether he is aware that malarial patients have been identified again in Sri Lanka recently;
(iii) whether the use of the BTI larvicide which was locally produced to eliminate dengue, has been started;
(iv) whether the BTI larvicide imported to control dengue has been completely distributed?
(b) If not, why?

(ii) 2012 ඔක්තෝබර් මාසයෙන් පසු හඳුනා ගනු ලැබුවේ විදේශයන්හිදී මැලේරියාව වැළඳී මෙරටට පැමිණි පුද්ගලයන් පමණි. මැලේරියා රෝගය බහුලව පවතින රටවල සංචාරය කිරීමෙන් පසු ශ්රී ලංකාවට පැමිණෙන දේශීය හා විදේශීය සංචාරකයන්ගෙන් මැලේරියා රෝගය තවදුරටත් වාර්තා වේ. ඒ අනුව සංචාරකයන් හරහා රට තුළට ඇතුළු වන මැලේරියා පරපෝෂිතයන් මඟින් නැවතත් රට තුළ මැලේරියාව ව්යාප්ත වීමට ඉඩ ඇති බැවින් මෙම අමාත්යාංශය මැලේරියා මර්දන ව්යාපාරය හරහා අනෙකුත් පාර්ශ්වකරුවන්ගේ සහයෝගය ද ඇතිව තවදුරටත් රෝග නිවාරණ කටයුතු ක්රියාත්මක කරනු ලැබේ.
