Hon. (Mrs.) Thalatha Atukorale,— To ask the Minister of Highways, Ports and Shipping,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the road from Ratnapura to Agalawatta via Thiriwanaketiya will be developed by laying carpet;
(ii) the total length of the road which is scheduled to be so carpeted;
(iii) the estimated cost of the project;
(iv) the companies with which agreements have been signed for the project;
(v) the date of the completion of the development work of this road, according to that agreement;
(vi) the total length of the road which has already been carpeted;
(vii) of the already completed portion of the road as per each company separately; and
(viii) separately, the amount of money paid to these companies by now?
(b) If not, why?

(iv) චයිනා නැෂනල් එරෝ ටෙක්නොලොජි ඉන්ටර්නැෂනල් ඉංජිනියරින් කෝපරේෂන් ඔෆ් චයිනා සමාගම - China National Aero Technology International Engineering Corporation of China, CATIC-ENG - (මෙම සමාගම විසින් අතුරු ගිවිසුමක් මඟින් දේශීය සමාගම් දෙකකට ව්යාපෘතියේ කටයුතු නිම කිරීමට භාර දී ඇත. මෙම ප්රදේශයන්හි පසු ගිය වසරේ නිතර පැවති වැසි සහිත කාලගුණික තත්ත්වය සහ එම සමාගම් දෙකෙහි වැඩ ප්රමාදය හේතුවෙන් ඉදිකිරීම් කටයුතුවල බලාපොරොත්තු වූ ප්රගතිය ලබා ගැනීමට නොහැකි විය. එබැවින් අමාත්යාංශයේ උපදෙස් පරිදි අතුරු ගිවිසුම අවලංගු කර ඇත. අමාත්යාංශය සමඟ ගිවිසුමට එළඹි චීන සමාගම විසින් මේ වන විට ඉදිකිරීම් කටයුතු කරගෙන යනු ලැබේ.)
