Hon. Ajith P. Perera,— To ask the Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy —
(a) Will he state—
(i) the number of metal quarries run in Pathakada, Uduwara and Delgoda areas in Millaniya Divisional Secretariat Division;
(ii) the names and addresses of those metal quarries;
(iii) the nature of the businesses run by each of the aforesaid institutions;
(iv) whether necessary approval and permits have been obtained to run each of the aforesaid businesses; and
(v) if so , the dates and times in which each of the aforesaid permits and approval was obtained?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether it has been reported regarding a condition of serious environmental pollution in the area mentioned in above; and
(ii) if so , the measures that have undertaken to prevent the environmental pollution mentioned above?
(c) If not, why?
