Hon. (Mrs.) Rosy Senanayake,— To ask the Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether a large number of acres of land in "Kularippu" forest reserve in Muhudubada Pattuwa Divisional Secretariat Division in the Mullaitivu District, "Mattusudan" crown forest in Mankulam Divisional Secretariat Division, and the forest reserves that belong to three Divisional Secretariat Divisions i.e., Musali, Madu and Manthai West in the Mannar District are being cleared of forest at the moment;
(ii) separately, the extent of land that has been cleared of forest from each of the aforesaid forest areas; and
(iii) separately, of the purpose of clearing the aforesaid forest areas?
(b) If not, why?
