Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Finance and Planning,—
(a) Will he state separately the names, addresses, educational and other qualifications, salaries and other privileges of the members of the Board of Directors including the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation who were in office on 19.03.2013?
(b) Is he aware that—
(i) certain individuals who have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation are accused of various allegations;
(ii) cases are being heard in the Office of the Commissioner of Labour against certain Directors; and
(iii) a group of officers who were charged with corruption have been recruited to serve in the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation?
(c) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he admits that the entire Insurance Corporation is falling into disrepute and downfall owing to the situation mentioned in (b) above;
(ii) if so, whether action will be taken to dismiss the members of the Board of Directors and the corrupt officials against whom allegations have been leveled from the Corporation in view of preventing the aforesaid situation?
(d) If not, why?
