Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Health,—
(a) Will she inform this House—
(i) the details of the approved cadre of the Delft Hospital, which is the only hospital situated on the Delft Island in the Jaffna District;
(ii) the reasons for not appointing a permanent doctor to that hospital for the past eight years;
(iii) the difficulties faced by the people who live in the Delft Island as a result of not appointing a doctor; and
(iv) the date on which the staff vacancies existing in the Delft Hospital will be filled for the purpose of providing the people living on the Delft Island with an excellent healthcare service?
(b) If not, why?
