Hon. Ananda Aluthgamage,— To ask the Minister of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports,—
(a) Is he aware that —
(i) a function was held at the Duncan White Auditorium of the Ministry of Sports on 02.10.2018 to award cricket equipment to 35 selected schools in Colombo district;
(ii) a person named Bandula Dissanayake, who was the Chairman of the Tournament Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket, attended that function on behalf of the former administration of Sri Lanka Cricket; and
(iii) at that function, he was wearing the official necktie of Sri Lanka Cricket?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the nature of the legal and ethical background for a former official of Sri Lanka Cricket to attend such an event in a situation where election of office bearers of that institute had been postponed and the institute was functioning under a competent authority; and
(ii) of the nature of the steps that will be taken by the Ministry to prevent the corrupt officials of Sri Lanka Cricket from participating in the activities implemented by the good governance government?
(c) If not, why?
