The Committee on Parliamentary Business which met on 19th March 2026 discussed the Business of the House for the First Sitting week for the month of April 2026 and agreed as follows:-

10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. Questions for Oral Answers
11.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Questions under Standing Order 27(2) of the Parliament
11.30 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. (i) Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill – Second Reading
(This Bill which was presented to Parliament on 17.03.2026, will be taken up for Second Reading, in the event no petitions are filed in the Supreme Court in terms of Article 121 of the Constitution against the said Bill)
(ii) Social Security Contribution Levy (Amendment) Bill – Second Reading
(This Bill which was presented to Parliament on 17.03.2026, will be taken up for Second Reading, in the event no petitions are filed in the Supreme Court in terms of Article 121 of the Constitution against the said Bill)
(iii) Regulations under the Convention Against Doping in Sports Act – To be approved
(These regulations were presented to Parliament on 17.03.2026 and the motion thereof will be included in the next Addendum to the Order Book of Parliament, No. 3(9) to be issued on 20.03.2026)
(iv) Regulation under the Strategic Development Projects Act – To be approved
(This regulation was presented to Parliament on 19.03.2026 and the motion thereof will be included in the next Addendum to the Order Book of Parliament, No. 3(9) to be issued on 20.03.2026)
(v) Rules under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Act – To be approved
(These rules were presented to Parliament on 17.03.2026 and the motion thereof will be included in the next Addendum to the Order Book of Parliament, No. 3(9) to be issued on 20.03.2026)
