Medical (Amendment)
The Hon. Chief Government Whip moved a Bill to amend the Medical Ordinance (Chapter 105).
The Privilege motion that the question of privilege arising out of the matter raised by Hon. (Al-Haj) A. H. M. Azwer, M.P. in Parliament on August 07th, 2013, moved by the Chief Government Whip, was referred to the Committee on Privileges under Standing Order 127.
Private Members’ Bills
The Hon. M. T. Hasen Ali was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
Royal Charity Foundation (Incorporation)
The above was referred to the Minister of Social Services for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).
Main Business of the House for Today
The following Motion (appearing as Item No. 3 of today’s Order Paper) was passed by the House:-
Increasing the plantation of Kithul to boost the Kithul industry
Since the Kithul contributes immensely for the rural industries, this Parliament resolves that proper action must be taken to increase the number of new plantations in keeping with our ambitious plan of increasing the stock of Kithul for vegetation so as to give a boost to the rural industry and the rural folk.
Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Timber theft in the field of furniture industry” was moved by the Hon. (Dr.) Harsha De Silva.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1517 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 18th March 2014.
