National Institute of Business Management (Amendment)
The Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament moved a Bill to amend the National Institute of Business Management Law, No. 23 of 1976.
Private Members’ Bills
(i) The Hon. Kanaka Herath was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
Study Centre for the Advancement of Technology and Social Welfare (Incorporation)
(ii) The Hon. M.B. Farook was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
Federation of Photographic Societies of Sri Lanka (Incorporation)
The above (i), and (ii) were referred to the Minister of External Affairs and Minister of Social Services respectively for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).

Appropriation Bill (2014) – Committee Stage
Today is the Twenty Third Allotted Day of the Appropriation Bill (2014) – “Committee Stage Debate”.
The Appropriation Bill (Budget) 2014 was passed with amendments by the House today, with a majority of 95 votes.

The following Items (appearing as Item Nos. 2 to 10 of today’s Order Paper) were passed by the House:-
(i) Order under the Excise (Special Provisions) Act
(ii) Order under the Ports and Airports Development Levy Act
(iii) Two Orders under the Special Commodity Levy Act
(iv) Two Orders under the Sri Lanka Export Development Act
(v) Resolution under the Inland Revenue Act
(vi) Resolution under the Customs Ordinance
(vii) Regulations under the Imports and Exports (Control) Act
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1805 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 21st January 2014.
