Presentation of Bills

Registration of Electors (Special Provisions)

The Hon. Minister of Justice moved a Bill to make special provision to exempt internally displaced persons from certain requirements of the Registration of Electors Act, No. 44 of 1980; and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.


Private Members’ Bills

(i) The Hon. Pon. Selvarasa was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
"Batticaloa Young Men’s Christian’s Association (Incorporation)"

(ii) The Hon. Dilip Wedaarachchi was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
"Sri Lanka Cultural Foundation for the building of Culture and Morals (Incorporation)"

(iii) The Hon. Vidura Wickramanayaka was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled
"Sri Siddhartha Foundation (Incorporation)"

The Bills (i), (ii) & (iii) above were referred to the Ministers of
• Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs
• Culture and the Arts
• Social Services
respectively for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).

Registration of Electors (Special Provisions) Bill

Debate adjourned on the Second Reading for a future date.


Motion at the Adjournment Time

Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Transparency of Non-Government Organizations” was moved by the Hon. Shantha Bandara.
