Sri Lanka Electricity (Amendment)

The Hon. Minister of Power and Energy moved the Bill to amend the Sri Lanka Electricity Act, No. 20 of 2009.


Select Committee of Parliament to Inquire and Report on Strengthening the Independent Character of the Parliamentary Service

House agreed to a Motion moved by the Hon. Chief Government Whip of Parliament for a further extension of time till 31st of May 2013.


Main Business of the House for Today

The following Items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 and 2 of today’s Order Paper) were moved by the House:-

(i) Regulations under the Public Contracts Act - passed

(ii) Vote of Appreciation for the services of His Holiness the Pope Benedict XVI


Adjournment Motion

Adjournment Motion on “Incident at the premises of the Tellippali Durgai Amman Temple” was moved by the Hon. Rajavarothiam Sampanthan.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1930 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Thursday 21st February 2013.
