(i)    Annual Report and Annual Financial Statements of the Institute of Human Resource Advancement of the University of Colombo for the year 2023
(ii)    Annual Reports of the Paranthan Chemicals Company Limited for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023
(iii)    Annual Report of the Ceylon Fishery Harbours Corporation for the year 2023
(iv)    Report on the submission of observations and steps taken in terms of the Standing Order 119(4) of the Parliament with regard to the matters mentioned on the Ministry of Fisheries in the report of the Committee on Public Accounts which was presented to Parliament


Presentation of Reports from the Committees
(i)    The Report of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Transport, Highways and Urban Development was presented by the Hon. Bimal Rathnayake, Member of Parliament, the Chair of the Committee.
(ii)    Five Reports of the Committee on Public Enterprises for the First Session of the Tenth Parliament was presented by the Hon. (Dr.) Nishantha Samaraweera, Member of Parliament, the Chair of the Committee.

Issues regarding proposed educational reforms


Ministerial Statements
(i)    Hon. (Dr.) Anil Jayantha, Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning on behalf of the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development replied to the Question raised by the Hon. Sajith Premadasa and Hon. Ravi Karunanayake under the Standing Order 27(2) of the Parliament on 24.10.2025 regarding proposals implemented, results obtained etc. in Budget 2025 and Government and Central Bank decision to set a 5% inflation target instead of 2% respectively.
(ii)    Hon. (Mrs.) Saroja Savithri Paulraj, Minister of Women and Child Affairs replied to the Question raised by the Hon. Sajith Premadasa under the Standing Order 27(2) of the Parliament on 25.11.2025 regarding regulations, Teacher allowances, facilities etc. for Pre Schools.

Regulations under the Motor Traffic Act (appearing as Item Nos. 1 and 2 of today’s Order Paper)

were approved by the House


Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “’Establishment of child development and protection centres” was proposed by the Hon. (Mrs.) Samanmali Gunasingha, Member of Parliament.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1734 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Friday 9th January 2026.
