Ministerial Statements
Hon. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education replied to the Question raised by the Hon. Ajith P. Perera under the Questions to be asked from the Prime Minister on 10.09.2025 regarding X-Press Pearl disaster.
Presentation of Bills
(i) The Hon. Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning moved the Bill entitled
“Colombo Port City Economic Commission (Amendment)”
to amend the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Act, No. 11 of 2021.
(ii) The Hon. Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development moved the Bill entitled
“Institute of Real Estate Professionals, Sri Lanka”
to provide for the establishment of the Institute of Real Estate Professionals, Sri Lanka which shall be responsible for the maintenance of professional standards and discipline of members of the institute; for the protection and promotion of the interest of the public in relation to the profession of real estate; and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
