Ministerial Statements

(ii) Hon. Wasantha Samarasinghe, Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development replied to the Question raised by the Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan under the Standing Order 27(2) of the Parliament on 09.07.2025 regarding problems faced by farmers in Jaffna.

Privilege
The Privilege motion that the question of privilege arising out of the matter raised by the Hon. (Dr.) Ramanathan Archchuna, M.P. on 09th May, 2025 in Parliament to the effect that his privileges have been infringed, moved by the Hon. Chief Opposition Whip, was referred to the Committee on Ethics and Privileges in terms of the provisions of Standing Order 118 of the Parliament.

(i) Resolution to remove the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. T.M.W. Deshabandu Tennakoon from the office of the Inspector-General of Police in terms of Section 17 of the Removal of Officers (Procedure) Act, No. 5 of 2002 - Division was taken (177 in favour; 0 against; 1 abstain)
(ii) Regulations under the Anti – Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act
(iii) Regulations under the Judicature Act
Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Gazette regarding Grama Niladhari Division of Koralai Pattu Central Divisional Secretariat” was proposed by the Hon. (Dr.) M.L.A.M. Hizbullah, Member of Parliament.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1800 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Wednesday 6th August 2025.
