Presentation of Bills

(i)    The Minister of Labour moved the Bill entitled

“National Minimum Wage of Workers (Amendment)”

to amend the National Minimum Wage of Workers Act, No. 3 of 2016.

(ii)    The Minister of Justice moved the Bill entitled

“Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment)”

to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure Act, No.15 of 1979.


Main Business of the House for Today

Two Regulations under the Motor Traffic Act (appearing as Item Nos. 1 and 2 of today’s Order Paper)

were approved by the House.


Motion at the Adjournment Time

Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Archaeological research at Sivan Kovil situated at Uruththirapuram in Kilinochchi” was proposed by the Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1730 Hrs. until 1000 Hrs. on Thursday 25th March 2021.
