Presentation of Reports from the Committees

The Report of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education and Human Resources Development was presented by the Chair of the Committee, the Hon. (Prof.) Ashu Marasinghe.


House agreed to the following Motion moved by the Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, the Leader of the House of Parliament,

Select Committee of Parliament to study and report to Parliament its recommendations to ensure Communal and Religious Harmony in Sri Lanka

that the Select Committee of Parliament to study and report to Parliament its recommendations to ensure Communal and Religious Harmony in Sri Lanka, appointed by the Speaker, on 07 September 2018 presented an Interim Report on its findings within the time limit granted by the motion agreed to by Parliament on 04 September 2018 and that in terms of Standing Order 102 of the Parliament, this Parliament do grant, an extension of time till 12 July 2020 to present the Final Report.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1330 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 7th January 2020.
