Presentation of Bills
(i) The Hon. Minister of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development, Vocational Training & Skills Development moved the Bill entitled
“Companies (Amendment)”
to amend the Companies Act, No. 07 of 2007.
(ii) The Hon. Chief Government Whip moved the Bill entitled
“Prevention of Offences relating to Sports”
to provide for the prevention of match fixing, corruption, illegal manipulation and illegal betting in sports and for the appointment of a special investigations unit for investigation of offences and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Private Members’ Bills
The Hon. Wijepala Hettiarachchi was granted leave to introduce the,
“Bill to amend the Lions Clubs International District 306A-National Development Foundation Trust (Incorporation) Act, No. 28 of 1986”
The above Bill was referred to the Minister of National Integration, Official Languages, Social Progress and Hindu Religious Affairs for report to Parliament under Standing Order 52 (6) of the Parliament.

Motion at the Adjournment Time
Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Remains of Ven. Medhalankara Thero were cremated within the Neeraviyadi Pillaiyar Temple premises” was proposed by the Hon. (Mrs.) Shanthi Sriskandarasa.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1400 Hrs. until 1030 Hrs. on Wednesday 23th October 2019.
