Presentation of Bills

The Chief Government Whip presented the following Bills entitled-
(i)    Prescription (Amendment) - to amend the Prescription Ordinance (Chapter 68)
(ii)   Trust Receipts (Amendment) - to amend the Trust Receipts Ordinance (Chapter 86)


House agreed to the following Motion moved by the Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Leader of the House of Parliament,

Select Committee of Parliament to look into and report to Parliament on the terrorist attacks that took place in different places in Sri Lanka on 21st April 2019

In terms of Standing Order 102 of the Parliament, this Parliament do grant the Select Committee of Parliament appointed by a resolution passed by Parliament on 22nd May 2019 to look into and report to Parliament on the terrorist attacks that took place in different places in Sri Lanka on 21st April 2019, an extension of time till 31st October 2019 to present its final report.


The Bill entitled “Computer Society of Sri Lanka (Incorporation)” was withdrawn by the Hon. (Prof.) Ashu Marasinghe with the leave of the House.


Main Business of the House for Today

Merchant Shipping (Amendment) Bill

was passed by the House with amendments.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1713 Hrs. until 1030 Hrs. on Thursday 19th September 2019.
