Hon. Ishak Rahuman,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Is he aware that among the people who are living in Anuradhapura District—
(i) most of them are engaged in farming activities during a more of the year;
(ii) use agro-wells to obtain water for farming; and
(iii) face a scarcity of water or find the aforesaid agro-wells are on the verge of collapse due to the fact that they have not been renovated for a long period of time?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether any programme has been arranged to renovate the aforesaid agro-wells; and
(ii) if so, the date on which the aforesaid programme will be implemented?
(c) If not, why?
