Hon. Heshan Withanage,— To ask the Minister of Industry and Commerce,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that an industrial zone is established at Kuruwita, in Ratnapura District;
(ii) if so, of the date of commencement of the aforesaid industrial zone and its primary objectives;
(iii) of the factories that function in this industrial zone as at today and their names;
(iv) whether the number of the employees serving in each of these factories would be separately stated;
(v) of the names of the factories which were closed down during the aforesaid period, if any;
(vi) of the steps taken by the Ministry to further develop this industrial zone?
(b) If not, why?
