Hon. Douglas Devananda,— To ask the Minister of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development and Rural Economic Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) approximately, 750 families are engaging in fresh water fishing industry associated to 11 lakes in Kilinochchi district; and
(ii) aforesaid families have been completely deprived of their livelihood owing to recent drought situation?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether there is any possibility of providing them with some relief measure with respect to their livelihood;
(ii) if so , of aforesaid relief measure; and
(iii) of the date on which aforesaid relief can be granted?
(c) If not, why?
