0566/’10 Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Co-operatives and Internal Trade,— Is he aware that the Sri Lanka Human Resources Development Banking Society Limited, which was registered by the Central Bank under the Co-operative Act has liquidated and closed all its branches by now? Will he state — the number of branches belonged to the aforesaid bank; the number of depositors and the total amount of money that had been deposited? Will he inform this House— whether an interim committee was appointed in 2007 to repay the deposits; if so, the outcome of the aforesaid interim committee? Will he submit to this House — the total amount of money that should be repaid to the depositors of the aforesaid bank; whether action has been taken to repay the aforesaid amount of money; if not, the date on which the payment of the aforesaid amount of money will be completed? If not, why?
