Hon. (Mrs.) Rohini Kumari Wijerathna,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that steps have been taken to resettle the families of the Laggala electorate of Matale district who got displaced owing to the Moragahakanda project of Kalu Ganga, within the Laggala Electorate itself;
(ii) if so, of the number of families that got displaced and the extents of land provided;
(iii) if so, whether it is admitted that although the lands thus provided are adequate for the present generation, they do not suffice the next generations; and
(iv) if so, of the steps that will be taken by the ministry to solve the land issues faced by the families resettled as a result of the Moragahakanda project and the land issues that will be encountered by their future generation?
(b) If not, why?
