Hon. ( Dr.) Bandula Gunawardana,—To ask Minister of Plantation Industries,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether a state-private joint Action Committee was formed in order to solve the problems faced by the tea industry according to Proposal No. 157 of Budget 2016;
(ii) if so, the names of its members;
(iii) of the main problems identified by the said Committee in 2016 as those faced by the tea industry; and
(iv) of the measures adopted by the government in order to solve the problems in the tea industry in 2016?
(b) If not, why?
