* Answer tabled:

(a)            (i)      No. The appropriate approval of the Sri Lanka Aviation Authority and the Sri Lanka Airport and Aviation Services Limited had been obtained for the 66th Anniversary Celebrations of Sri Lanka Air Force at the Ratmalana Airport.

                        The Airport had been closed from 26th February to 5th March only from 2.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. and it was opened for civil aviation matters daily in the morning.

        Necessary arrangements have been made to use the Airport situated at Katukurunda Air Force Base for civil aviation services, during the period of time in which Ratmalana Airport had been closed.

  Therefore the activities at Ratmalana Airport had not been disrupted by this celebration.

(ii) As the anniversary celebrations of Sri Lanka Air Force had been carried out at Ratmalana Airport, the aircraft movements in the eastern side of the Katunayake Airport were not disrupted. Furthermore, the Katunayake Airport had been closed during that period by the relevant authorities for its maintenance matters.

(iii) No. The Ratmalana Airport has not being utilized for international aviation  matters and the passengers of Katunayake Airport were not interrupted.

(b) (i) Government funds had not been spent on this celebration.

(ii) The money required for this celebration were earned through selling of tickets and through sponsorship.

(c) Does not arise.
