Hon. T. Ranjith De Soysa,— To ask the Minister of State Resources and Enterprise Development,—
(a) Is he aware 976.75 hectare land area of Haerfark Estate belonging to Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation and situated in Meda Dumbara, Kandy, has been leased to the person called Manjula Gunawardene, Director of Punasta Green Gardens Company of Wanawasala, Kelaniya for a sum of Rs. 2 million?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the government valuation report and Cabinet approval have been obtained for the relevant agreement;
(ii) whether the relevant lessee has acted in compliance with the lease agreement;
(iii) of the measures that will be taken against that, if the lessee has failed to respect the agreement;
(iv) whether measures will be taken to cancel the lease agreement and transfer the land back to the state, if the lessee has not acted legally;
(v) of the persons to be held responsible, if the lessee has not acted legally; and
(vi) of the measures that will be taken with respect to them?
(c) If not, why?
