Hon. (Prof.) Ashu Marasinghe,— To ask the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the power plants situated in the Western Province , which generate electricity to be provided to the Ceylon Electricity Board ;
(ii) the electricity generating capacity of each of the aforesaid power plants, separately;
(iii) whether an assessment has been done in regard to the gases which are injurious to the environment, emanating from each of the aforesaid power plants;
(iv) whether steps will be taken to provide electricity to the Western Province including the city of Colombo using environment friendly methodologies?
(b) If not, why?
