Hon. T. Ranjith de Soysa,— To ask the Minister of State Resources and Enterprise Development,—
(a) Is he aware that a block of land with an extent of 45 acres, 2 roods and 16 perches from Hantana Estate in Kandy which belongs to State Plantation Corporation has been granted to the persons called Sharmini Kiriella and Philip Jayawardene in the form of an illegal exchange of land?
(b) Will he admit that despite the fact that this land can be granted after a statutory transfer of that land to the Land Reforms Commission, the then Minister and the Chairman of JEDB have transferred the aforesaid land in an illegal manner, without following that procedure?
(c) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether measures will be taken to transfer this land which has not been legally transferred, back to the Ministry of Plantation Industries;
(ii) of the persons who are responsible for this illegal lands deal;
(iii) of the action that will be taken with respect to them?
(d) If not, why?
