Hon. Ashoka Priyantha,—To ask the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) which Depots operate buses under Route Number 907 along Negombo-Chilaw Road at present; and
(ii) of the number of buses operated per day along this road by each depot separately?
(b) Is he aware that a large number of passengers who need to travel to places up to Chilaw are subjected to a lot of inconveniences as private buses do not run in this route from 4.00 a.m. to 6.00 a.m. and from 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. and as such private buses terminate their run only up to towns such as Wennappuwa, Marawila and Madampe from 5.00 p.m.?
(c) Will he also inform this House whether steps would be taken to operate a SLTB bus at least once every half an hour from 4.00 a.m. to 6.00 a.m. and from 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. as the passengers who use this bus service face a lot of inconvenience?
(d) If not, why?
