Hon. Ajith P. Perera,— To ask the Minister of Justice,—
(a) Will he submit to this House—
(i) the number of applicants who applied for the competitive examination held in 2010 for the recruitment of Magistrates ;
(ii) the basic qualifications that the Judicial Service Commission stipulated for applying for that examination ;
(iii) whether an interview was held on the basis of the marks obtained at that examination ;
(iv) if so, the cut off mark for calling applicants for the aforesaid interview ;
(v) the number of applicants who were called for the interview ; and
(vi) the procedure followed at that interview for giving marks?
(b) Will he state—
(i) the number of applicants recruited on the basis of the marks obtained by them at the examination and the interview, in year 2010 ;
(ii) the full names of those applicants ; and
(iii) the marks obtained by each applicant at the examination and the interview separately?
(c) Will he state—
(i) whether an applicant who has obtained less number of marks than the cut off mark has been recruited to the above post ; and
(ii) if so, the reasons for doing so?
(d) If not, why?
