Hon. Ajith P. Perera,— To ask the Minister of Health,—
(a) Will he inform this House of—
(i) the number of wards ;
(ii) the number of beds for patients ; and
(iii) the number of operation theatres ;
in the Panadura Base Hospital?
(b) Will he admit that—
(i) except for two wards, all other wards including operation theatres submerged as a result of rains experienced in May 2010 ;
(ii) this grave situation has occurred on several occasions during the past few years ; and
(iii) immediate steps ought to be taken to prevent this situation?
(c) If so, will he state—
(i) the measures that will be taken in this regard ; and
(ii) the time limit within which such activities will be completed?
(d) If not, why?
