Hon. Indika Anuruddha Herath,— To ask the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine,—
(a) Is he aware that the kidney disease which is wildly spread in Rajarata area has spread to urban areas such as Colombo and Gampaha by now?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) the reasons for the kidney disease to be common in the districts of Colombo and Gampaha;
(ii) the number of kidney patients that have been identified in each Divisional Secretariat Division in Gampaha District, separately;
(iii) special health programmes conducted for providing treatments to the patients that have been identified; and
(iv) of the steps that have been taken to prevent the spread of kidney disease in these areas further?
(b) If not, why?
