Hon. Nalin Bandara Jayamaha,— To ask the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the methodology adopted by the Ceylon Electricity Board to purchase the electricity when it is generated through Wind power and Solar power;
(ii) whether it is not possible to purchase the electricity generated through Wind power and Solar power through a competitive and open tender procedure; and
(iii) whether it is not more profitable to the Ceylon Electricity Board and the country to generate electricity utilizing the two methodologies of Solar parks and Wind parks which are mostly used around the world and to purchase the aforesaid electricity by the Ceylon Electricity Board?
(b) If not, why?
