Hon. Indika Anuruddha Herath,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Will he inform this House the number of families in Gampaha District whose livelihood is mainly agriculture?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) the extent of paddy cultivated lands in the Gampaha district;
(ii) out of those lands the extent of lands that have not been cultivated in this year; and
(iii) the reason for not cultivating the uncultivated paddy lands?
(c) Will he further inform this House—
(i) the extent of land that has been cultivated with crops other than paddy in Gampaha District; and
(ii) the crops thus cultivated?
(d) Will he state—
(i) the number of anicuts in Gampaha district that are used for agricultural activities:
(ii) the number of anicuts that are not functioning out of the anicuts mentioned in above (i);
(iii) the number of canals in the district;
(iv) the number of canals that have been renovated in this year out of the above; and
(v) the amount of money that has been allocated in 2016 to clean the anicuts and canals in the district?
(e) If not, why?
